Author signing/photography exhibit. One-Room Schools are an important part of Michigan’s cultural heritage. Once dotting the landscape approximately every five miles, the remaining schoolhouses stand as landmarks and a reminder of our rural past. In her newest book, Michigan One-Room Schoolhouses, artist/photographer Mary Keithan seeks out this rural architecture and captures it on film with her 8” x 10” view camera. Her previous book, Michigan’s Heritage Barns, also preserves an important part of our American heritage.
