New York Times best-selling author and DWW member Ruth Ryan Langan will be giving a presentation on "Writing Romance: from blank page to finished novel" and signing her newest release, Quinn, on Wed., Mar. 7 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bloomfield Township Public Library. No registration is required to attend. Quinn is the first in a three-book series for Grand Central Publications, written as R. C. Ryan. Ruth is a long-time DWW member and author of nearly 100 novels.

DWW member Patricia Hooper
has been awarded the 2011 Laurence Goldstein Poetry Prize from the Michigan Review Quarterly. The $500 annual prize is given for a poem published in the MQR during the past year. Albert Goldbarth served as judge.

DWW member Elaine Watson's memoir, Circa 1925, is now available on Kindle.

Congratulations to DWW member Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli, author of Dead Dogs & Englishmen, named one of the best mysteries of 2011 by Kirkus Reviews.

Phyllis Green's short story "Provisions" (Prick of the Spindle vol. 5.1) has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She also work appearing in two other publications: the story "Dead Man in Lobby" in the December 2011 issue of Epiphany (a New York literary magazine) and a drama, "By the Beautiful Sea," in the January issue of Mason's Road.

DWW member and author Cynthia Harrison is pleased to announce the publication of her novel, Sister Issues, contemporary women's fiction with a dash of humor.

Respected clinical psychologist and poet Judith Goren, PhD
looks at her life with depth and honesty in her latest book, At the Edge: A Jewish Outsider Finds Her Way. Ruth Cain, "mother of all communicators," leaves lasting legacy
DWW joins the writing community in mourning the loss of Ruth Cain. In addition to her significant contributions to the fields of communications and journalism both professionally and personally, Cain, a DWW member since 1994, served many years as the group's liaison with the Metro Detroit Book & Author Society. New book by Stiles to be published next summer
DWW member and prize-winning author Martha Bennett Stiles will have a new middle grade historical novel out in July 2012: Sailing to Freedom (Henry Holt).
