Laura Hedgecock

Laura Hedgecock writes about the people we come from and the stories that connect us. Her path to authorship began with an old spiral notebook — a lifetime of memories her grandmother, Hazel Crymes, called her "Treasure Chest of Memories." That gift inspired Memories of Me: A Complete Guide to Telling and Sharing the Stories of Your Life (Cedar Fort, 2014). Her second book, Blogging for Family History: How to Launch a Blog and Make It Successful (2017), grew from a different passion — years of work as a webmaster and family history blogger — and offers genealogists a practical roadmap for building a site that shines. Her writing has appeared in a range of national and genealogical publications.

She is currently at work on a young adult low urban fantasy series and a nonfiction account of an American in the Soviet Union in 1990.

Laura lives in Michigan with her husband and Springer Spaniel, and can usually be found writing, chasing ancestors down rabbit holes, or behind a camera somewhere outdoors. Visit her at TreasureChestofMemories.com.
