Michigan writers of all genres and skill levels are invited to apply for membership in Detroit Working Writers. Complete guidelines and instructions are on page 2 of the downloadable application form.
Applications are reviewed by the New Membership Committee and the full Board of Directors, whose decision is final. We are committed to inclusion, and also to quality work, or the promise of quality work. Please send your very best samples (no pornography or erotica).
DWW requires a $20 non-refundable fee as part of the application. The fee is payable through the PayPal link below, or by check, which you may enclose with your application.
Membership application is open from January 15 to May 15. Please note that you must have at least one traditionally published work in order to apply.

Apply for Established Writer status if you have impartially published work and a portfolio of single authorship or bylines.
Emerging Writers are those with unpublished work, self-published work, or those whose traditional publishing credits have not reached the level required for Established Writer guidelines.
Student Writers are high school or college students enrolled on a full-time basis. Proof of enrollment is required, and this status becomes void at the time of graduation.
